Teaching Interests

Computer systems design, including both hardware and software; embedded microprocessor system design; hardware design using VHDL.

Research Interests

Computer engineering, especially in artificial intelligence. Problems of current interest are in distributed problem solving and in computer aided tutoring.

Current research interests include the following:

  • Examining the potential of distributed networks to deliver intelligent tutoring in basic areas of computer engineering, such as C++ instruction.
  • Generally, Interested in various forms of cooperative problem solving, which might involve cooperation among intelligent software agents and/or humans.
  • Primary interest in the design of intelligent, distributed computer systems for a wide variety of problem solving activities.
  • Past work has been in the application of distributed, intelligent computing to large scale , world-wide communication networks.
