Then sign up to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Certified First Responder (CFR). You can refresh your EMT skills, too, through one of our courses.

Two evenings a week (Monday and Thursdays) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 1 Saturday 08/08/2026 (9am - 4pm)

 

Course begins May 18,  2026 and concludes August 8, 2026 (Practical Skills Exam Date)

Original cost: $1050.00 (includes text, uniform shirts and a vital signs kit)

Orientation will be on May 11th from 9:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. to receive your class materials and fill out the administrative paperwork.

Certified EMS agencies can submit for NYS reimbursement upon the student’s successful receipt of NYS EMS Certification.

For more information or if anyone is interested after the application deadline (before the class begins) please email Doug Wildermuth at dwilderm@clarkson.edu and if there are openings still available - we may be able to get you into class.

 

Continuing Medical Education 

Emergency medical Technicians (EMTs) can re-certify themselves by attending Continuing Medical Education Sessions (CMEs). They are conducted 8 months of the year and more information can be found here.
