Donald J. Whelley ‘76 Joins Clarkson University Board of Trustees
Donald J. Whelley ‘76, Managing Member of DJW Advisors, LLC, was named to the Clarkson University Board of Trustees on February 1. As a trustee, Whelley will serve on the Audit and Financial Affairs Committees.

Whelley is the owner of DJW Advisors, LLC, providing advisory services to institutional and high net-worth family office clients. The company is also an investor in a number of startup companies.
He currently serves on the board of several companies, including Illuminated Holdings Inc. a maker of radioisotopes for medical imaging and therapeutics and provider of neutron imaging and non-destructive testing; Flugen Inc., a developer of a live attenuated flu vaccine; and NeoClone Biotechnologies, a provider of antibody development and discovery services.
He also served as board director for Phoenix Nuclear a manufacturer of neutron accelerators from 2012 to 2021 prior to its merger with Illuminated Holdings, and GeoResources, Inc., a Texas based independent oil and gas producer from 2010 to 2012 prior to its acquisition by Halcon Resources.
Prior to owning his own company, Whelley was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and director for John S. Herold Inc., an oil and gas research and consulting firm from 1993 to 2008. He has also served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Damson Oil Corporation prior to its acquisition by Parker & Parsley. He was also Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for B&D Equities Inc. and Director of acquisitions at Granada Corp., an agriculture biotech firm. Whelley started his career with Arthur Andersen following his graduation from Clarkson.
Whelley also served on the Board of Tax Review for the City of Stamford, CT from 1991 to 1995. Don and his wife Eileen live in Greenfield Center, NY.
