Biography
Taeyoung Kim is an assistant professor at Clarkson University with a joint appointment to the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Institute for a Sustainable Environment (ISE). Dr. Kim received a doctorate in the School of Chemical and Biological Engineering from Seoul National University in 2015, and was a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University.

Research Interests
Dr. Kim concentrates his research on the application of electrochemical principles and technologies to address environmental and sustainability challenges in water and energy systems. Specific research topics include water desalination, wastewater treatment, and electrical power production from renewable and alternative energy sources such as salinity gradients, waste heat, and CO2. He has published more than 20 papers in some of the best journals in this field, including Energy & Environmental Science, Environmental Science & Technology, and Environmental Science & Technology Letters.
