Biography
Jane Oppenlander is associate professor and chair of Bioethics in the Lewis School of Health Sciences at Clarkson University where she teaches statistics, epidemiology, and research methods. Prior to joining the Lewis School, she served as an assistant professor for Clarkson’s David D. Reh School of Business. Jane has over 35 years of experience applying statistical methods and operations research in the energy industry and is a certified six sigma master black belt. Jane has consulted and published in the fields of quality improvement in health care, nursing research, educational assessment and pedagogy, and transportation engineering. Her current research interests include statistics education, adult learning, nursing research, and statistical applications in health care. Jane co-authored a business statistics textbook and two casebooks on data analysis and quality improvement in health care. She received her Ph.D. in Administrative and Engineering Systems from Union College and an M.S. in statistics, a B.A. in mathematics, and a B.S. in education, all from the University of Vermont.
