Biography
Casey is a National Grid veteran with two decades of experience in electric design and engineering, distributed generation interconnections, and resiliency. Currently serving as the Group Strategic Engineering Director for National Grid, his role focuses on climate change resilience, engineering delivery at scale, stable operation of renewables-based electricity, and the future of heat. He works with the Company’s US and UK business units to understand challenges around scaling up capability and capacity to meet projected growth in the utility industry.
Throughout his career, he has worked in renewable interconnections policy, innovation, planning and asset management, reliability and resiliency, and performance excellence. Prior to entering the utility industry, he served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy. He now serves as board president of the Upstate New York Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and as a board member of the Clarkson Center for Electric Power Systems Research. He also participates as a Senior Member of the IEEE and a member of the FBI Citizen’s Academy.
