Upcycled Art Show at Clarkson University October 29

Clarkson University's Institute for a Sustainable Environment will sponsor the first annual Uniquely Northern New York Upcycled Art Show on Saturday, October 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Cheel Campus Center.
The public is invited to attend the show where artisans' wares will be on sale.
"This show promotes reusing, repurposing, and recycling," says Janessa Scott, show coordinator. "You can discover what local artisans are creating from an assortment of items, including sweaters, metal, mattresses, soda cans, and more."
The following artisans will be featured at the show:
Off the Wall Designs, Massena, N.Y.: Recycled spoon pendants, decorative switch plate covers.
2nd Time Around, Malone, N.Y.: Products made from recycled wool (sweater, blanket, coats, scarves skirts, etc.). Hats, mittens, Christmas stockings, bears and bunnies, doggie coats, purses, eye glass cases, etc.
RosMari Brand, Ilion, N.Y.: One of a kind, recycled, handmade clothing and accessories.
Twisted By Choice, Morristown, N.Y.: Painted vinyl record cuffs, bike inner tube earrings, recycled aluminum cuffs and earrings, recycled copper earrings, rings and cuffs hand tinted.
HandCandy Mittens, Mannsville, N.Y.: Mittens, hats, and scarves from upcycled sweaters and other discarded clothing.
Christina Adams Jewelry, Canton, N.Y.: Jewelry made from recycled glass and sterling silver.
Taylor Creek Creations, Canton, N.Y.: Mittens in children's to adult sizes made with recycled sweaters and polar fleece liner. Dog scarves made with scraps of materials from other quilting project. Tote bags made with cast off clothing.
Wood and Company, Gouverneur, N.Y.: Recycled wine bottles turned into cheeseboards, wall hangings, decorative lights and more.
The Mad Recycler, Madrid, N.Y.: Recycled bedspring wreaths, art and other recycled accessories.
Artisans, who upcycle or recycle, and would like to be a vendor at the show, can register at http://www.uniquelynny.com/upcycled_show/register.html . The cost is $20 for a 10 x 10 space.
