First-Year Advising

In this Section

All incoming first-year students have, in addition to their faculty/professional advisor, access to a first-year advisor who works with them toward making satisfactory academic progress and personal adjustment, as well as monitoring and identifying any other problems they may be experiencing as early as possible.

The type of concerns or problems that typically arise during the first year might consist of stress due to classes, roommate, change of environment, academic uncertainty, etc.

First-Year Advising acts as a facilitator for first-year students who might not know where to go for assistance. Students should feel free to stop by the First-Year Advising Office located in the Student Success Center, ERC 110 or call 268-3948.
