Shipley Center Dashboard
The mission of the Shipley Center is to accelerate the commercialization of discovery-driven Clarkson innovations into the marketplace, to foster and accelerate the exchange of ideas between the various schools on campus and industry and to prepare and educate the faculty and students for the 21st century entrepreneurial workplace.
To date, the Shipley Center has worked with a total of 388 projects based on innovations proposed by students, faculty / staff, alumni, and members of the local community. While two thirds of the innovators are from current members of Clarkson University, many of the remaining 33% are citizens of the local community. Either through associations with institutions such as Canton-Potsdam Hospital and St. Lawrence University, these relationships provide aid to North Country entrepreneurs in turning ideas into reality. Of this total 388 projects, 34% have been converted to actual startup companies, as seen in the data below.
