The following dates and deadlines apply tentatively for the 2017 Summer Research Experiences Program for Undergraduates in Environmental Sciences and Engineering at Clarkson University:
Starting February 28th: Application deadline and beginning of the selection process and contact by respective faculty mentors.
Starting mid-March: Begin to make financial offers to students for the selection of the 8-10 undergraduate researchers. Students will be expected to decide on the acceptance of the offer within one week.
March 31: Final date for notification of selection or declination for the program.
Mid-April: Establishment of a REU e-mail list to foster communication among the participants; ASSETS REU calendar (Google) to be shared with all participants and mentors.
Late-April: On-line seminar on program involving all ASSETS participants, coordinators, and ASSETS REU alumnae.
Early-May: On line meeting with ASSETS REU participant and mentor to discuss summer project.
Sunday, May 21, 2017: Participants arrive on Clarkson campus.
Monday, May 22, 2017: First day of summer research program.
Thursday, July 27: Research symposium in conjunction with all Clarkson Summer Research Programs. Student participants will present their research results in form of oral or poster presentations to students and faculty. Final project report due.
Friday, July 28, 2017: Final day of summer program and farewell dinner.
