Class of 2014

Hometown:
Potsdam, New York

Patient care experience:Phlebotomist, Nursing Assistant

Why Clarkson? I chose Clarkson because of its history of continuing success. I was always aware of Clarkson’s innovation and prestige as a resident of Potsdam. When the Physician Assistant Studies promised a small class size yet state of the art tools for learning, I did not hesitate at the opportunity to attend the ground breaking new program in the North Country.

Best part of PA school? Discovering that everything you have ever learned about life, about science about people is applicable to all aspects of medicine. I enjoy the puzzle and the problem solving process that occurs in PA school and I enjoy the personal growth that happens as a result of challenging situations.

Advice to applicants: Recognize your own learning strengths and capitalize on them as soon as you recognize them; the faster you figure out how to learn information quickly and store it (which is really the key) the better off you will be for the remaining semesters.
