OIT satellites are decentralized OIT offices established across campus to provide faster responses to computing problems in academic buildings. Faculty, staff, and student concerns received at the HelpDesk regarding Clarkson computer labs, faculty or staff PCs, or non-central OIT services are distributed out to appropriate satellites for resolution, allowing for end user support, on site consulting and maintenance, and media services.
This includes maintenance of Clarkson computer labs, operation and maintenance of classroom and portable projection and media systems, Diskette and Directory Repair, Virus Disinfection, General Application Support, and Operating Support for Novell intraNetWare, Solaris, AIX, Windows (2000, NT, XP), and VM/CMS.
Three OIT satellites operate on the Clarkson Campus:
The CAMP building Satellite (CAMP Room 173) services the School the Engineering faculty and staff, maintains the three CAMP computer laboratories, and services media and projection systems in the CAMP building classrooms. It also services the Alumni Gym, Cheel, Damon Hall, ERC (CDC, Honors), Fitness Center, Holcroft House, ERC Loft Machines (IBM's), Peyton Hall, Recreation Building, Rowley and Walker Center.
The Science Center Satellite (Snell 342) services faculty and staff in the School of Arts and Sciences, supports classroom computer and projection systems, and maintains the School of Arts and Sciences computer laboratory. It also services Center for Health Sciences (Clarkson Hall), Graham Hall, Price Hall, SAS, Science Center and Woodstock Lodge.
The Bertrand H. Snell Hall Satellite (Snell 342) provides service to the School of Business and School of Liberal Arts faculty and staff and University administration, maintains the Bertrand H. Snell Hall computer laboratories, and maintains classroom computer and projection systems in Bertrand H. Snell Hall. It also services Air Force ROTC, Army ROTC, Downtown Snell Hall and Moore House (non-student only).
