Chartered by the New York State Board of Regents in 1970, the Associated Colleges of the St. Lawrence Valley is an independent not-for-profit educational consortium with four members: Clarkson University, SUNY Canton, SUNY Potsdam and St. Lawrence University.
The consortium was created as a regional multipurpose organization to expand the number and variety of educational opportunities for students, faculty and the community, to share resources, to avoid needless duplication and to innovate through joint action.
USASBE LOCAL aims to connect cross-disciplined, research-minded educators to USASBE through a convenient, low barrier, and focused event with an opportunity to connect with regional colleagues with similar interests in teaching, scholarship, and practice. These regional events will provide a compelling opportunity to form an immediate, identifiable group of colleagues to build connections faster. The events are also open to the public. Entrepreneurs with businesses or business ideas are encouraged to attend.
The roots of USASBE trail back over fifty years and have transformed and developed into the largest independent, professional, academic organization in the world. USASBE is an inclusive community advancing entrepreneurship education through bold teaching, scholarship, and practice. With members ranging from universities, colleges, for-profit businesses, nonprofit organizations, and the public sector; a shared common commitment to fostering entrepreneurial attitudes and behaviors are held. USASBE is built around four pillars: entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurship research, entrepreneurship outreach, and public policy. By fostering advances in each of these areas, we support the development of entrepreneurship educators who in turn will create next generation of entrepreneurs.
