Princeton Review: Clarkson University One of Nation's Best Colleges & Best Northeastern Colleges
Clarkson University has again been named one of the country's best institutions for undergraduate education, according to the Princeton Review.
The company features Clarkson in the new 2015 edition of its annual college guide The Best 379 Colleges. Only about 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges and four colleges outside of the U.S. are profiled in the book.
Clarkson has also been named one of the Best Northeastern Colleges by Princeton Review, which identifies some of the colleges and universities that they feel stand out within each region.
In its profile on Clarkson, The Princeton Review quotes extensively from Clarkson students the company surveyed for the book, who say things like “you meet tons of people and get to form good connections with most;" "the excellent alumni network is buoyed by the many internships and co-ops that are readily available;" and “I know that if I obtain a degree I will have little to no trouble getting a job."
The students go on to say that Clarkson is best known for its strong business and engineering programs, and its exceptional record of career placement for graduates thanks to its “amazing reputation with a large range of companies.”
"Clarkson University offers outstanding academics, which is the chief reason we selected it for the book," said Robert Franek, Princeton Review's senior VP/publisher and author of The Best 379 Colleges.
This spring, the Princeton Review also named Clarkson University one of the most environmentally responsible colleges in the United States and Canada through inclusion in The Princeton Review’s Guide to 332 Green Colleges: 2014 Edition.
Clarkson is consistently among the schools ranked well in both the Princeton Review and U.S. News & World Report’s annual issue of “Best Colleges," where Clarkson is listed as a tier one national university and its supply chain management program in the nation's top-20. Forbes magazine also ranks Clarkson University in its top-50 list of "America's most entrepreneurial universities."
Of students graduating in Clarkson’s Class of 2013 and using the campus Career Services Center, 95 percent reported being placed in their field of study in the first year after graduation.
Clarkson University launches leaders into the global economy. One in five alumni already leads as a CEO, VP or equivalent senior executive of a company. Located just outside the Adirondack Park in Potsdam, N.Y., Clarkson is a nationally recognized research university for undergraduates with select graduate programs in signature areas of academic excellence directed toward the world’s pressing issues. Through 50 rigorous programs of study in engineering, business, arts, sciences and health sciences, the entire learning-living community spans boundaries across disciplines, nations and cultures to build powers of observation, challenge the status quo, and connect discovery and engineering innovation with enterprise.
