Full Class of Clarkson University Physician Assistant Grads Pass National Certification Exam
The first class of Clarkson University Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies students has received a 100% pass rate on their Physician Assistant National Certification Exam.
While not unprecedented for a charter class, Chair of Physician Assistant Studies Michael B. Whitehead says that "this is an amazing accomplishment and one of which we can all be proud."
"This has much to do with our talented young PAs and their drive to succeed," he says. "It also demonstrates and confirms our PA faculty’s dedication to the education and mentorship of our students -- past and present. My thanks to everyone that made this accomplishment possible."
Physician assistants (PAs) are licensed health professionals who practice medicine as members of a team with supervising physicians. PAs deliver a broad range of medical and surgical services to diverse populations in rural, urban and suburban settings.
Clarkson's program is a 28-month course of study granting a master of science degree in physician assistant studies.
The Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam includes 300 questions and must be taken by all PAs before they can be licensed. It is conducted by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
