Clarkson University Online Graduate Business Programs Ranked in Nation's Top-12 by U.S. News & World Report
U.S. News & World Report today ranked Clarkson University's online graduate business programs #12 in the nation.
Clarkson offers both a master of business administration (MBA) and a master of science in engineering management degree online.
U.S. News released its second annual rankings edition of the Best Online Education Programs, saying that the schools on its graduate business list are "the best online master's in business degree programs, based on factors such as level of accreditation, reputation for excellence among peer institutions, and academic and career support services offered to students."
Clarkson's online MBA and M.S. in engineering management reflect the high quality of its other graduate business programs. “We are gratified that our efforts to build an ultra-high quality distance program for working professionals has been recognized and rewarded,” said School of Business Dean Timothy F. Sugrue. “We are confident that this will be a permanent and important component in our continuum of professional education.”
The opportunity to study online is vital to students who need an MBA, but cannot attend school full-time or part-time because of their travel schedules. By leveraging information technology with online programs, Clarkson's School of Business enhances the effect of its faculty and provides an experience equal to being on campus in the classroom.
"This ranking is a reflection of our commitment to treat distance education as an opportunity to enhance and enrich the learning experience, without sacrificing the academic rigor of our curriculum," said Director of MBA Programs Professor Boris Jukic. "I am pleased that our choice to take this approach has earned us national recognition."
The online MBA programs were ranked based on ratings of their academic reputation by top academics who run online programs at peer institutions, as well as on student engagement, admissions selectivity, faculty credentials and training, and student services and technology.
Online bachelor's degree programs as well as graduate online degree programs in business, engineering, nursing, education, and computer information technology were ranked by U.S. News.
This year, U.S. News converted to the new, federal government definition of distance education programs, meaning that degree-granting programs must offer 100 percent of their courses needed for the degree online.
