His articles have been published in leading academic journals including Journal of Operations Management, Decision Sciences Journal, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Production Economics, and Industrial Marketing Management.
Mahapatra serves on the Editorial Review Board of IEEE Transactions in Engineering Management and International Journal of Integrated Supply Management. He has chaired several conference sessions.
He has frequently served as ad hoc reviewer for highly respected academic journals in the area of operations and supply chain management. He is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences, the Decision Sciences Institute, and the Production and Operations Management Society.
