Adirondack Business Center Presents Developing Your Unique Selling Proposition May 18

Saranac Lake, N.Y. -- The Adirondack Business Center, in its mission to support regional small business owners, will offer the class “Developing Your Unique Selling Proposition (USP)" Wednesday, May 18, from 6-8 p.m.
 
Adirondack Business Center signIdentifying what a customer wants and what they cannot get and then meeting that need is the key to good business. Identification of your own ability as a business to fill in that “gap” is key. Marketing that key point to let customers know what you uniquely offer is known as your “unique selling proposition” or USP.

Marc Compeau, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at Clarkson University, will instruct small business owners in how to better identify the true wants and needs of current and future customers.

He will help entrepreneurs to better understand their competition and what wants and needs current and future competitors are filling.

Students will be assisted in completing a rough, if not complete, unique selling proposition for their own enterprise and will receive information and tools to begin marketing and applying their USP.

The class is open to all business owners or people planning to begin a business.

The Adirondack Business Center is hosted by Clarkson University’s Center for Entrepreneurship in Potsdam, NY, and is designed to be the first of several similar centers located throughout the Adirondack Park. It offers classes, assistance, and counseling in support of regional small business owners. It also offers business spaces available to rent by the hour or day. These include personal workstations, private offices, a conference room, and a 24-seat class room. Included are personal computers loaded with Microsoft Office 2010 Suite, high speed internet, phone, teleconferencing, projectors, and screens. Copying, scanning, faxing, and small-batch printing are also available on site.
