Earlier this year, Clarkson University Professor Susan E. Conry was named Distinguished Service Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering by full vote of the University board of trustees. At a dinner in October, Conry (right) was presented by University Provost Thomas C. Young (left) with a framed resolution recognizing her for this honor.
The resolution recognized Conry for her contributions to higher education, saying, in part, that "she has defied convention among her higher education peers and been a leader within her profession by graciously accepting and initiating many national as well as international assignments to advance engineering and computer science education, and in particular, advancing the opportunities for women to enjoy the fruits of an education rooted in technology serving humanity; and therefore bringing great credit and reputation to herself and to Clarkson University."
Clarkson University launches leaders into the global economy. One in six alumni already leads as a CEO, VP or equivalent senior executive of a company. Located just outside the Adirondack Park in Potsdam, N.Y., Clarkson is a nationally recognized research university for undergraduates with select graduate programs in signature areas of academic excellence directed toward the world’s pressing issues. Through 50 rigorous programs of study in engineering, business, arts, sciences and health sciences, the entire learning-living community spans boundaries across disciplines, nations and cultures to build powers of observation, challenge the status quo, and connect discovery and engineering innovation with enterprise.
