Sohn-Robinson Named Director of Clarkson University Student Health Center
Sunhee Sohn-Robinson has been named director of Clarkson University's Student Health Center.
Most recently, Sohn-Robinson was physician assistant at Canton-Potsdam Hospital's Prime Care Clinic. In her new role at Clarkson, she will remain an employee of the hospital, representing the latest joint effort by the University and Canton-Potsdam Hospital (CPH).
Sohn-Robinson is a graduate of the Albany Medical College/Hudson Valley Physician Assistant Program and also has a bachelor of science degree from Binghamton University. Prior to becoming a physician assistant, she held positions in information systems management for private corporations.
Sohn-Robinson brings to Clarkson comprehensive clinical skills acquired at primary and acute care clinics and in-hospital chemical dependency treatment services and says that she looks forward to working in a community that recognizes the vital link between education and health care.
At the Student Health Center, CPH provides clinical services to students, including basic medical care, preventative care, general physicals for student related activities and limited urgent care. Students also have access to CPH's state-of-the-art lab services.
In addition, the medical staffing expertise and resources of the hospital allow the University to realize increased staffing during peak academic year periods, while CPH can re-allocate staffing within its operating unit during lulls like semester and summer breaks. Most important is the intent for the campus Student Health Center to remain a Clarkson-based service that will be a seamless experience for students.
Canton-Potsdam Hospital, with its main hospital campus in Potsdam, provides comprehensive acute medical-surgical care and emergency care, and has widely recognized programs in chemical dependency treatment, cardiac care, obstetrics, and physical rehabilitation services. The hospital also operates the Warner Cancer Treatment Center. In addition, CPH is an affiliate of the renowned Fletcher Allen Health Care, headquartered in Burlington, Vt.
