Sun Appointed Assistant Professor of Communication and Media at Clarkson University

Xiaohua Sun has been appointed assistant professor of communication and media at Clarkson University. She will begin teaching this fall.

Sun received her B.Arch. at Tianjin University (China) and her M.S. and Ph. D. in design and computation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). sun

Sun's research interests include temporal visual composition, visual perception and art, multimedia installation and performance, computer music, information visualization, and user interface design.

While at MIT, Sun worked as both a teaching and a research assistant, where she designed and developed a series of interactive applications for active learning and worked on the curriculum development for the new field of digital arts. She also participated in multiple interface and VR projects at different research centers and groups.

Sun is a co-inventor on two pending patents. She is also an active digital artist. Her works have been presented at SIGGRAPH and other digital arts festivals.
