Miao Appointed Assistant Professor of Consumer and Organizational Studies at Clarkson University

C. Fred Miao has been appointed an assistant professor of consumer and organizational studies in the Clarkson University School of Business. He begins teaching this fall.
While at the University of Missouri, Miao worked as a research assistant and graduate instructor. He has also worked as a purchasing coordinator for General Motors in Shanghai.
Miao's research interests include supply chain sales force management, supply chain buyer-seller relationships and relationship marketing. His doctoral dissertation, "Salesforce Control Systems - An Integrated Approach," received the best doctoral dissertation award from the Academy of Marketing Science. Miao's teaching interests include marketing distribution channels, marketing management, retail management and marketing research.
He received the outstanding research assistant award from the University of Missouri, and has received a direct selling education foundation sales dissertation grant from the American Marketing Association and a summer competitive research paper grant from the University of Missouri Marketing Department.
Miao has co-written articles in the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management and Industrial Marketing Management. He is a member of the American Marketing Association, the Academy of Marketing Science, and the Institute of Supply Management.
