Five Clarkson University Programs Make U.S. News Best Graduate Schools List
To determine the best graduate schools, U.S. News reviews post-graduate programs at more than 1,200 universities. Rankings are based on expert opinion about program quality and statistical indicators that measure the quality of the school's faculty, research and students. Clarkson is the eighth smallest of nationally ranked research universities in the United States.
"Graduate education is collaborative, interdisciplinary and relevant at Clarkson," says University President Tony Collins. "Although we are consistently ranked by U.S. News as one of the premier universities in the country, I believe this is the first time five of our majors have been singled out in the magazine's 'Best Graduate Schools' edition. Our world-class research focusing on advanced materials, alternative energy sources, the environment and biometrics for personal identity protection are placing Clarkson and our students squarely at the forefront of national priorities. This focus adds value to the Clarkson graduate degree and gives our students a competitive edge with employers."
Clarkson encourages students to consider the social consequences of their work by looking at the economics, ethics and environmental impact of each decision. "This," Collins says, "produces graduates who combine technical knowledge with innovation and enterprise to lead in whatever field they choose."
