Clarkson Helps Raise $1,765 For Stevie Bartlett
An 8-7 shootout victory for a group of students was the least important aspect of a late Sunday game between the Potsdam Teachers and Potsdam Students, as $1,765 was raised from tickets, raffles and other donations from a charity hockey game held to benefit 11-year-old Stevie Bartlett at Cheel Arena.
Several Clarkson University Men's Hockey team members were on hand to sign autographs, and mingle with a grateful throng of family, friends and well-wishers. Captain Nick Dodge and Assistant Captain Matt Curley officiated the game on the ice. All gate receipts went directly to help with the cost of care for the Potsdam Central Middle School student. The Knights donated a jersey, two signed hockey sticks, and some USA hockey gloves for raffle. Additionally, the Cheel staff provided free popcorn and soda for all those in attendance, giving away more than 300 bags of popcorn and 400 drinks.
For anyone that was unable to attend the event and would like to donate further for Stevie Bartlett, please contact the Clarkson University Cheel Arena staff at 315-268-7750.
