Clarkson vs. Brown Hockey Game Will Raise Funds for Hospice
When Ivy League Brown University faces off against Clarkson's Golden Knights at Cheel Arena February 9, ticket proceeds from the game will help support hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley. Clarkson is donating $10 of each $12 advance ticket sold to the supportive services organization.
The Golden Knights are enjoying a celebrated season and are ranked #10 in the nation. The team won their first holiday tournament since 1995 defeating defending national champion Wisconsin and then Lake Superior State in the final game to win the Badger Showdown in Madison, Wisconsin. Brown, always competitive, should provide an exciting and challenging contest for the Golden Knight squad.
"The players, coaches and staff of the Golden Knights hockey team, as well as the entire campus, are behind this effort to raise funds for Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley," remarked Tony Collins, president of Clarkson University. "The compassion and dedication of hospice volunteers to terminally ill patients and their families is truly noble. I encourage all hockey fans to come out and enjoy a great game and support this important community organization."
