Clarkson University to Air Series on Ideas and Visions for Local Community
The spring 2006 season premiere of North Country Matters is scheduled for broadcast on Time Warner Cable WCKN Channel 30, Tuesday, February 7, 2006, at 7 p.m. and will be replayed on February 14 at 7 p.m.
North Country Matters is unique. No other television program like it is produced in the North Country. In fact, the closest regional television stations that broadcast local news and information originate in Syracuse, Watertown and Plattsburgh, offering little beyond headlines of interest or value to our community.
This program will focus on the Village of Potsdam and events in our community. The feature segment will be a conversation with Ron Tischler. The new mayor will discuss what he sees for the Village of Potsdam in the coming year. Others stories scheduled for the show will include:
- Professor Paul Saint-Amand of SUNY Potsdam will announce Potsdam State’s Annual Peace Poetry Contest for young people.
- A close-up look at the hockey fans attending last week’s games between Clarkson and St. Lawrence.
- The rest of the show will explore a spectrum of free-time activities enjoyed by Clarkson students. The students play as hard as they work ─ extreme skiing, snow boarding, Krump dancing, mural painting, gaming and music.
This is the first of three episodes for the spring 2006 semester. There will be one additional show in March and another in April. Anyone with story suggestions for future shows should contact Dan Dullea (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your ideas.
