Canton Resident Named To Academic Honors Team By U.S. Figure Skating Association
Alana Katelyn Searleman, daughter of Janice and Alan Searleman of Canton, N.Y., and a freshman studying at The Clarkson School at Clarkson University, has been named to the U.S. Figure Skating Synchronized Team Skating Collegiate Academic Honors Team. She is presented with this honor in recognition of her outstanding academic achievement and involvement with the U.S. Figure Skating Association.
Searleman competed with intercollegiate synchronized skating team, the EDUskates, at the Eastern Sectional Championships in Buffalo, N.Y., and the U.S. National Championships in Lowell, Mass. Coached by Kim Patterson, the EDUskates is a synchronized skating team whose current members are from local colleges - Clarkson University, SUNY Potsdam, and SUNY Canton.
Searleman was recently recognized for being on The Clarkson School’s Dean’s List. Students named to this list have achieved a grade-point average between 3.25 and 3.79 in a rigorous, full-time course of study at the University and are recognized for their achievement among students enrolled at The Clarkson School.
