Sony Senior Vice President And Chief Information Officer Milde Joins Clarkson University Board Of Trustees

Clarkson University alumnus James Milde ’83 of Katonah, New York, vice president and chief information officer of Sony Electronics Inc. has been elected to the Clarkson University Board of Trustees.
Sony is a world leader in the manufacture of audio and video products, car navigation systems, televisions, information and communications, semiconductors and electronic components. Milde oversees and has responsibility for all facets of information technology at Sony, including e-commerce and internal IT strategy, business unit consulting, systems delivery and technology services.
Prior to joining Sony, Milde held strategic management positions at Pepsi and Bertelsmann AG, a major media and entertainment company.
While at the Pepsi Cola Company and the Pepsi Bottling Group he developed and implemented an overall Information Technology strategy and built a world class IT organization that has developed leading edge IT enabled solutions to support business strategies. Milde also has significant experience with emerging technologies, including CRM/application software solutions, mobile computing, data warehousing and electronic commerce incentives.
Milde was employed by Bertelsmann from 1991 – 1999 and among other business strategy and operations roles, served as senior vice president, Operations and Administration for the corporations’ Random House division. His primary responsibilities in that position included customer operations and supply chain logistics, IT and new media.
He earned a Masters in Business Administration from Clarkson University in 1983 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Finance from St. Lawrence University.
Milde Serves on numerous profit and non-profit boards. He was elected a Clarkson University Trustee at their May 7 board meeting in Potsdam, New York. Trustees serve five-year terms.
