Albany International Corp. Chairman & Ceo Frank Schmeler Elected To Clarkson University Board Of Trustees

Clarkson University alumnus Frank R. Schmeler '64 of Nassau, N.Y., chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Albany International Corp., has been elected to the Clarkson University Board of Trustees.
Schmeler's career spans more than 40 years with Albany International Corp., the world's largest producer of paper machine clothing and high performance doors with manufacturing plants in 15 countries and sales worldwide.
Following his return to the U.S. in 1995, Schmeler assumed responsibility for all U.S. and Canadian PMC operations. He was elected a director, executive vice president, and chief operating officer of the corporation in 1997. He served as chief operating officer from 1997-2000 and as president from 1998-2001.
Schmeler has served as Albany International's chairman of the board since 2001, and as chief executive officer since 2000.
He received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Clarkson University in 1964.
Schmeler is also director of the United Way of Northeastern New York and is a member of the Paper Industry Management Association.
