Date Set For 11th Annual World In Potsdam Diversity Festival
The North Country will once again celebrate global unity and cultural differences as Clarkson University hosts the 11th Annual World in Potsdam Diversity Festival on October 16, 2004. SUNY Potsdam and the Village of Potsdam are co-sponsors of the event.
Each year, community members come together for the all-day festival that features exotic foods, live musical and dance performances, demonstrations and hands-on activities celebrating cultures and people around the world.
This year's activities will include a foreign film festival; a demonstration of folk dances from Serbia, Greece, Quebec, Bulgaria, Hungary and Armenia; a piñata party and multicultural games; and performances by the Rob Roy Pipers and Dancers, and Hamsa Lila. Voted San Francisco's "Best International Band," Hamsa Lila draws on the cultures and music of North and West Africa, the Americas, India and the Caribbean in their electrifying presentation of world rhythms and trace beats.
All festival events are free and open to the public.
