Christopher Lenney of Potsdam has been appointed University Photographer at Clarkson University.
Lenney’s responsibilities will include creating high quality images of University life for print publications, the alumni magazine, news, direct marketing, and the Web and electronic media.
“We are pleased to have Chris join our Marketing/Communications team,” said Stephen Hopkins, director of Publications. “He brings a high level of technical skill and experience that should communicate Clarkson’s excellence through powerful visual expressions.”
Lenney worked for the Johnson Newspaper Corporation for the past 11 years. He was chief photographer at the Malone Telegram for four years, and has also worked for the Adirondack Daily Enterprise and the Lake Placid News. Most recently he served as staff photographer in the Canton bureau of the Watertown Daily Times.
Lenney has received numerous awards for his photographic work from the National Press Photographers Association, New York State Associated Press Association and the New York Newspaper Publishers Association. A native of Potsdam, Lenney received his bachelor of arts degree in photography from SUNY Potsdam in 1990.
