Clarkson Theatre Company Shows That "anything Goes" In Upcoming Production

The Clarkson Theatre Company will present the musical comedy “Anything Goes” in the downtown Snell Hall auditorium on October 19 and 20 at 8 p.m. and October 21 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Written by Cole Porter,  “Anything Goes” takes place on the S.S. American, sailing from the United States to London. The production features an interesting twist of events, surrounding a love triangle between four main characters: Billy (a stockbroker’s assistant); Reno (a nightclub singer); Evelyn (an English gentleman) and Hope (a debutante).

“Add some gangsters to the mix, throw in some showgirls, sailors and a bunch of passengers and you’ve pretty much got our show!,” said Theresa Hopkins, vice-president of the Clarkson Theatre Company.

The production will feature classic musical numbers, such as “It’s Delovely;” “I Get a Kick Out of You;” “Blow, Gabriel, Blow;” “You’re the Top;” ” Anything Goes;” and “All Through the Night.”

General Admission for the musical comedy is $5.00, and $4.00 for students and senior citizens.
