Kathryn B. Johnson of Hannawa Falls, executive director of Clarkson University’s Career & Professional Development Center, has been appointed by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) to serve on the National Leadership Project Team.
Johnson and rest of the 10-member team recently met for the first time at the corporate headquarters of America Online (AOL) in Dulles, Va.
The team comprises leaders in the profession from university career services offices and corporate college relations/recruiting offices across the country. National team members include leaders from Duke University, the University of Illinois, George Mason University, University of Denver, Lafayette College, AOL, Burlington Industries, First Third Bancorp, as well as the Executive Director of NACE.
“Our goal is to prepare a set of recommendations for the NACE board of directors, which will define criteria for leadership, and to develop implementation models for developing leadership and professional competencies for both college/university career services staff and the corporate college relations/recruiting staff,” said Johnson.
Johnson is the former president of the Middle Atlantic Association of Colleges and Employers and has held other numerous leadership roles in her profession. She also serves as a consultant for Fortune 500 companies in the area of college relations and recruiting.
