Clarkson University Students Awarded Scholarships From National Starch And Chemical Company
National Starch and Chemical Company recently awarded scholarships totaling $4,500 to three Clarkson University undergraduates from the Department of Chemical Engineering.
Juniors Joseph S. Famolaro, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Famolaro, 618 Lorraine Ave., Schenectady, N.Y., and Erik Udovich, son of Mr. and Mrs. William G. Udovich, P.O. Box 1376, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and sophomore Frank M. Cappella, son of Frank and Gail Cappella, 98 Sweet Acres, Rochester, N.Y., were each awarded $1,500 for their outstanding scholastic achievement.
Based in Bridgewater, N.J., National Starch and Chemical is a global specialty chemical manufacturer and a producer of such products as cosmetics, textiles and adhesive materials. The company has long been a supporter of educational opportunities at Clarkson, providing not only scholarships but also financial assistance and speakers to such organizations as the campus chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineering (AIChE). National Starch has also been an annual presence at the Clarkson Career Fair.
Clarkson University is an independent institution located in northern New York, in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. The University has 2,902 graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in programs in its schools of Business, Engineering, Liberal Arts, and Science, and its Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management program.
