Blast From The Past: Clarkson Student Radio To Rebroadcast Programs From '70s And '80s Next Week
Clarkson University's student radio station, WTSC-FM (91.1 on air) and WNTC-FM 102.9 (on Time Warner Cable), has announced that from May 3-7 it will be supplementing its usual student DJ shows with rebroadcasts of actual WTSC student radio programs from the late 1970s to mid 1980s.
All week long, listeners can hear voices from the past playing what were the latest hits, commenting on Clarkson trends, and predicting Clarkson's future glories.
"Reliving some of WTSC's past shows gives student DJs a break during exams, and it allows us to relive some of WTSC's great student history" says Justin Poirier, chief engineer at WTSC. Tim Simkins, a regular student DJ noted that it will be both entertaining and educational to listen to his predecessors. "We owe a lot to the alumni who ran the station before us" Simkins said. "They give us something to strive for as we continue to rebuild the station."
Simkins and Poirier are Technical Communication majors at Clarkson University. WTSC-WNTC FM will be rebroadcasting 1970s and 1980s student shows from May 3-May 7. Clarkson's radio stations can be found at WTSC-FM (91.1 on air) and WNTC-FM 102.9 (on Time Warner Cable in the Canton-Potsdam area).
