Campbell Of Canton Named Clarkson Dean Of Engineering
Professor Gregory A. Campbell of Canton has been named dean of Engineering at Clarkson University on an interim basis, pending a national search for a permanent dean.
Professor Campbell joined Clarkson in 1984 as an associate professor of chemical engineering with previous experience in industry after completing his doctorate at the University of Maine. Most recently he has served as the chair of Chemical Engineering since 1996. During this time he also stepped forward to take on the role of acting chief information officer. His research endeavors are primarily in the area of polymer processing with an emphasis on the processing conditions on the properties of plastics. A strength in the classroom has been Professor Campbell's ability to impart substantial practical elements to his students due to his industrial experience."Under his leadership, I look forward to both the School of Engineering and the broader Clarkson academic enterprise continuing movement toward national and international recognition," said Vice President for Academic Affairs Anthony G. Collins. "I expect to work closely with Professor Campbell, as well as the other deans and chairs, as Clarkson continues to fulfill our "vision of a Clarkson education."
