Clarkson University In Top 15 Of Best Values In National Universities Says U.S. News And World Report

Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y., is among the top 15 best values in national universities, according to U.S. News & World Report's 11th annual "America's Best Colleges" guidebook, which hits newsstands and bookstores on Monday, August 24.

Clarkson President Denny Brown commented on the report, saying, "We have always considered Clarkson to be an excellent value to our students and believe our graduates rank among the best in the nation. Yet, it's nice to have a third party confirm those beliefs."

In the magazine's rankings of the nation's 3,300 colleges and universities, Clarkson ranked 13th in best value, and favorably in alumni giving and predicted graduation rate. Others in the top 15 include Stanford University, California Institute of Technology, Rice University, Cornell University, Princeton University, Columbia University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

U.S. News says that they find the best values in colleges that are above average academically, by relating a school's quality ranking with the net cost to a student who receives the average level of financial aid.

Clarkson University has 2,700 graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in programs in its schools of Business, Engineering, Liberal Arts, and Science; and its Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management program.
