Richard Boziwick Of Northport Receives Clarkson University's Highest Alumni Honor

What: Awarded Clarkson University's highest alumni award-- the Golden Knight Award-- by the Alumni Association at his alma mater, Clarkson University

Why: As part of ceremonies honoring alumni who have distinguished themselves either by service to their alma mater through Alumni Association service or have demonstrated outstanding career achievement, bringing distinction to themselves and to Clarkson.
Richard F. Boziwick graduated from Clarkson with his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1973. After graduation, Rich worked in the construction industry as an engineer with Pullman Kellogg Company, Gibbs and Hill Inc., and Dravo Corporation. In 1983, he left Dravo where he served as supervisor of the eastern regional office, to join R.P. Luce and Company as supervising engineer. He subsequently served as a corporate vice president and was named president of the corporation in 1990.
Rich has been an active volunteer both with Clarkson and with his community. He has served as a board member of the Northport Village Planning Board and the Trinity Regional School, member of the organizing committee of the Great Cow Harbor 10-K Run, and is a captain of the American Cancer Society athletic events.
Rich was instrumental in the development of the Alumni Association Long Island Chapter where he has served as an event coordinator, board member, and president. Rich has been a host for receptions with prospective students and parents and for guidance counselor information luncheons held in his area. He received the Alumni Admission Recognition Award in 1994 for his outstanding contribution to Clarkson's student recruitment efforts. He has been a regular participant in his class reunions and has served as class reunion gift chair. Rich has served the Alumni National Executive Council as a member-at-large for three years, during which time he chaired the Alumni Admission and Student Life committees. Further service to the Alumni Association includes three years as vice president, and in 1996, Rich was named president of the Clarkson Alumni Association. He is very proud of the Clarkson tradition in his family. His father, George, graduated from Clarkson in 1948.
It is with great pride that the Clarkson Alumni Association presents the Golden Knight Award to Richard F. Boziwick, Class of 1973.
