Clarkson University Commencement To Be Broadcast Live On The Internet
Potsdam, N.Y. – Clarkson University's Commencement ceremony will be broadcast live via the Internet on Sunday morning, May 17. Parents, friends and alumni who can't make it to the University's Potsdam, N.Y., campus will be able to tune in using a Web browser– like Netscape or Internet Explorer– and the free RealPlayer software. The broadcast begins at 10:00 a.m. EDT and can be found on the Web at http://www.clarkson.edu. The RealPlayer software can also be downloaded from a link at the Clarkson Web site.
Speaking and receiving honorary degrees at Clarkson's graduation will be cyberspace visionary and author Esther Dyson, and her father, physicist and author Freeman J. Dyson. Esther Dyson is chairman of EDventure Holdings and author of the recently published Release 2.0: A design for living in the digital age. Freeman Dyson is a distinguished scientist, futurist and author of many books, including Disturbing the Universe.
Also speaking and receiving honorary Clarkson degrees will be Rudolf Zahradnik, president of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and professor of physical chemistry at Charles University in Prague; Roger W. Sant, chairman of the board of the AES Corporation and chair of the board of the World Wildlife Fund U.S.; and Frank M. Rotunno, president and founder of United Sales Concepts.
Clarkson University is located in northern New York and has graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in its schools of Business, Engineering, Liberal Arts and Science.
