Clarkson University Fitness Center Groundbreaking Saturday

Potsdam, N.Y. — Clarkson University will ceremonially break ground on a new state-of-the-art Fitness Center on Saturday, April 18, at 1:30 p.m. The North Country community is invited to attend the event which will take place near the Maple Street entrance to Clarkson’s hill campus.
For those who can’t attend the ceremony, an Internet link to video of the event will be available later in the afternoon at http://www.clarkson.edu.
The new state-of-the-art facility comprises aerobic exercise, free-weight and circuit training, cardiovascular training, and warm-up areas. The building, being constructed between the Alumni Gym and the Indoor Recreation Center, will also be the new home for Clarkson’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
The building will house a 3,000-square-foot free weight and circuit training room, with a warm-up area, cushioned rubber flooring and mirrored walls; a 1,200-square-foot aerobic room designed to accommodate 30 students, featuring a cushioned floor and two mirrored walls; and a mezzanine level above the main lobby with a 775-square-foot cardiovascular workout area.
