Hot Poetry And Cool Jazz: Clarkson Hosts Poet Bruce Jacobs And Michael Karn Quartet Feb. 27

POTSDAM, N.Y. – MidKnights, Clarkson University's weekend entertainment series, presents an evening of poetry featuring Bruce Jacobs and jazz by the Michael Karn Group on Friday, Feb. 27 in the Cheel Campus Center beginning at 8 p.m. The free public event is sponsored by the Clarkson Union Board, SPECTRUUM, and Campus Programming.

The Michael Karn Group is considered the preeminent jazz combo in New York City. Saxophonist Karn, drummer Jeff Williams, bassist Doug Weiss and trumpeter Phil Grenadier are all faculty members of the Mannes College of Music's Jazz Department. Each has performed professionally with artists ranging from Ray Charles and Joe Williams to Tony Bennett and Mel Torme, and have traveled through Europe, the Far East and the U.S.

Special coffees and refreshments will be served during the evening.
