Thode Elected Clarkson Alumni President
Thode has been a member of the Alumni National Executive Council for three years and served on its Career Development Program Committee. In 1995, he worked closely with the Regional Chapter Development Program Committee and was responsible for developing the concept of "Knight Sites" which promotes informal alumni networking in regional areas throughout the United States. This past year, he served as first vice president of the Alumni Association.
Thode and his wife, Nancy, reside in Scituate.
Thode graduated from Clarkson in 1969 with a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. Upon graduation, he joined Procter and Gamble and has held a variety of increasingly responsible positions over the years. In 1992 Thode was named plant manager of the company's J.T. Baker Chemical Plant. While associated with P & G, he served as a recruiter and has been responsible for hiring many Clarkson graduates and securing corporate support for the University. Thode established Twin Rivers Technologies Inc. in 1995, following a successful career at Procter and Gamble. He is a registered professional engineer in New York and Massachusetts.
An extremely active alumni volunteer since graduation, Thode has worked closely with the Career Development Center, participating in the Alumni Career Day program and serving as a corporate recruiter. He served as a speaker on campus, coordinated regional alumni events, served as chair of his class reunion and a chair of the Boston regional phonathon for eight years. He is an alumni admissions volunteer and a Roundtable member.
Clarkson University is an independent institution located in northern New York, in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. The University has 2,670 graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in programs in its schools of Business, Engineering, Liberal Arts, and Science, and its Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management program.
