Bridget Ryan Of Fairfax Receives The Frederica Clarkson Award
POTSDAM, N.Y. -- Bridget M. Ryan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Ryan of Fairfax, Vt., recently received the Frederica Clarkson Award during Clarkson University's 104th Commencement Ceremony in Potsdam, N.Y. Ryan was selected for the $1,000 award by the University faculty, based on hers cholarship and promise of outstanding professional achievement.
Ryan, a civil and envioronmental engineering major, graduated from Clarkson with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.927. She is a Presidential Scholar, Tau Beta Pi--Engineering Honorary Society member, Chi Epsilon--Civil Engineering Honorary Society member, Phi KappaPhi--National Honor Society member, and served as junior officer and secretary of the Society of Women Engineers.
Ryan also served as a house adviser at The Clarkson School, a summer intern in the Environmental Health and Safety Department at Lockheed Martin, and a volunteer for the BigBrother/Big Sister Program and the Potsdam Nursing Home. Ryan's future plans includes traveling through Europe.
Clarkson University is an independent institution located in northern New York, in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. The University has 2,670 graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in its schools of Business, Engineering, Liberal Arts, and Science, and its Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management program.
