- Major or minor penalty shall be assessed to a player who:
- Body checks
- Elbows
- Raises broom over shoulders for any reason (no exceptions)
- Leaves his/her feet and trip opponent by sliding, diving or falling
- Hooking sticks or opponent
- Slashes with stick
- Uses unnecessary roughness
- Throws his/her broom
- Trips opponent with point of broom or foot
- Cross checks
- Any abusive language or unsportsmanlike conduct directed toward referees (major penalty - no exceptions)
- Spears or butt ends an opponent with the point of broom
- ANY FIGHTING CONSITITUES IMMEDIATE DISMISSAL FROM LEAGUE (NO EXCEPTIONS)
- IF A GOAL IS SCORED BY AN OPPOSING TEAM WHILE A TEAM IS SHORT HANDED, DUE TO A PENALTY, THE FIRST OF SUCH PENALTIES IS TERMINATED.
- Minor penalties shall be assessed to any player including the goalie who:
- Interference
- Interferes or impedes progress of opponent without the ball.
- Deliberately knocks a broom out of an opponent’s hand.
- Broken Brooms a. Must be dropped immediately
- If a broom is broken only that player may receive another form the player’s box. If another player brings or throws him/her a broom, this constitutes a minor penalty (except goalkeeper - player may birng him/her one - not thrown)
- Deliberately falls on ball, (except the goalkeeper, within the crease)
- Major penalty if the goalkeeper falls on the ball when the ball is behind the goal line and the goalkeeper’s body is entirely outside the boundaries.
- Penalty shot when player (except goalkeeper)falls on ball, holds ball into body, picks ball up with hand within the goal crease.
- Pick up the ball off the ice
- High Sticking - Any contact above the waist with stick & ball (minor)
- Illegal use of hands - Any intentional contact with hands to knock down, stop, gain control of ball.
