Combining Roller Coaster summer camp, after school programs, and tutoring and mentoring to local schools during the academic year, Impetus provides economically disadvantaged students the opportunity to pursue their interest in math and science. The program provides students with the chance to study research methods and increases their awareness of higher education options. Through after school program, Clarkson students reach a variety of local schools and use model roller coaster track equipment to teach the physics of roller coaster design. Students also work in teams throughout the year in MATHCOUNTS science Olympiad and COMAP contest teams.
