Clarkson Commits!

Join the Clarkson Commits! challenge and do your part to reduce the amount of solid waste we send to a landfill every year

If 51% of the population commits to separating their waste responsibly then we will shift our culture this semester. The first step is to begin to separate our waste correctly. Almost everything can be recycled or composted.

The Problem

Did you know…

  • Clarkson spent over $250,000 in fiscal year 2012 for solid waste management –
  • A lot of this is food waste and disposable food containers
  • At the same time, we spent $126,000 purchasing these disposable containers.
  • And it takes an estimated 430 hours of labor by Clarkson staff to move our waste to dumpsters.

Let’s work to solve this Problem!
