Career Fairs

Clarkson holds Career Fairs every September and January, attracting upwards of 100 employers – businesses, industrial and governmental – visiting campus to talk with students about career opportunities.

SPRING 2009 CAREER FAIR DATE:
Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Employers can register for the next career fair and students can search for participating companies online.

Employers: Clarkson University's Fall Semester Career Fair will take place on Thursday, September 18, 2008. The Fair will be held on the Cheel Hockey Arena Concourse and space is limited.  Invitations will be sent out in June, with registration opening at that time.  Please contact Linda Hastings, Recruiting Coordinator, with any questions at (315)268-3858 or by emailing her here.

NEW EMPLOYER PROGRAMMING:
We are currently in the planning stages for two employer-targeted programs to be held the morning of Career Fair (Thursday, September 18, 2008); please note during registration how many representatives you anticipate attending each session.  If you have any questions regarding the employer programming, please contact Karla Fennell, Associate Director of Co-ops & Internships at kfennell@clarkson.edu :

Program 1: Designing a Co-op and/or Internship Program
Audience: Beginner
Format: Workshop (led by Marty Ford, Career Center Director)
Time: 9:00 am - 10:00 am

  • This workshop is meant for employers who are interested in setting up a co-op or internship program and need pointers attaining and managing necessary resources and administration.

Program 2: Co-op/Internship Program Best Practices
Audience: Intermediate/Advanced
Format: Employer Panel
Time: 10:15 am - 11:15 am

  • Employers with established programs are welcome to attend this panel session to learn from industry leaders about how they manage their recruiting, orientation and supervision of co-ops and interns.



Students:
The Fall Semester Fair is open to any Clarkson student in any discipline. Employers will be seeking students to fill full-time, co-op and internship positions. Details and a list of employers will be available once registration begins in June.

Student Clubs & Organizations: If you or your organization are interested in volunteering to be "Yellow Hat Volunteers" at the career fair, please type in your names and email addresses on the line corresponding to the time you would like to work in the Yellow Hat SignUp Sheet.
