CAMP Undergraduate Outreach - 2009

CAMP’s pre-frosh summer research program (which is in its second year) encourages independent thinking and the development of laboratory skills that are necessary for college-level student learning. The objective is to connect the participants with individual CAMP professors and research groups engaging in various aspects of particle engineering and science.
This year the selected group includes Jessica Hernandez from Owego, NY, Christopher Milczarek from Round Lake, NY, Christopher Mirabito from Norwell, MA, Margaret Ngami from Brandywine, MD, Ashley Ryan from Owings Mills, MD and Lindsay Toot from Salem, OH. They are active contributors to ongoing research projects in real time sensors for water quality measurements, advanced cement technology, geotechnical (soil mechanics) engineering, and microstructural engineering.
Two of the 2008 participants, Nicole Olivares and Ken Yancey, have remained on campus to continue the research learning process for a second summer.
The director for this special outreach program is CAMP Professor Richard Partch.
