CAMP Director S.V. Babu Becomes Vice Provost of Research
CAMP Director S.V. Babu has accepted
the position as Vice Provost of Research at Clarkson University.
This is in addition to his current directorship of CAMP.

CAMP Professor Moosbrugger
Becomes Chair of the Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering Department
CAMP Professor John Moosbrugger has been appointed Chair
of the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering at
Clarkson University, effective July 1, 2001. Professor Moosbrugger
is highly regarded by his students for excellence in teaching and
is one of the faculty advisers of the Student Projects for Engineering
Experience and Design (SPEED) Program, who received the prestigious
2001 Boeing Outstanding Educator Award. His research interests are
in the area of cyclic plasticity, multiaxial plasticity, and viscoplasticity.
In addition, Professor Moosbrugger is Associate Technical Editor
of the ASME Journal of Mechanical Design and he is recognized nationally
for his contributions in cyclic plasticity research.

CAMP Professor
Borkovec Receives Promotion
CAMP Professor Michal Borkovec, of Clarkson
University's Department of Chemistry, has been promoted to
full Professor. He previously served as a lecturer at the
Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and held a
post-doctoral position at the University of Basel in Switzerland.
His research interests include static and dynamic light scattering
in colloidal particle dispersions, surfactant systems and
polymer solutions; adsorption of simple ions from aqueous
solutions to colloidal and polymeric matrices; stabilization
and flocculation in colloidal particle systems; and deposition
and release of colloidal particles through porous media. Professor
Borkovec has consulting experience in Germany with BASF Ludwigshafen
and Boehringer-Mannheim. In addition, he is a member of the
American Chemical Society, the International Association of
Colloid and Interface Science and Kolloid Gesellschaft.
