CLARKSON UNIVERSITY TO GREET LARGEST FRESHMAN CLASS IN 22 YEARS
Job placement rates, starting salaries and sought after majors are all factors that have contributed to Clarkson University's largest freshman class since 1986, according to the school's top admission official.
The University plans to greet 690 members of the Class of 2012 in late August. A total of 783 new students, including transfer and Clarkson School students, have placed deposits for the upcoming school year. Read More.

ClarksonUniversity Offers Unique Summer Program for High School Students in July
The Young Scholars Program, a unique summer experience for talented high school students, will again be offered by Clarkson University. The weeklong innovative program, which attracts rising juniors and seniors from around the nation, is designed to spark intellectual development, requiring students to exercise strong communication and cooperative problem solving skills. Alumni & Friends of Walker Center
Renovations to Walker Center and construction of an adjacent turf field are in the works as part of Clarkson’s redevelopment of the campus waterfront. Walker Center is being rejuvenated into an indoor recreation center to serve Clarkson athletic teams, campus wellness activities and regional youth sports programs. Read More.
Clarkson University Student Leaders Present at National AAUW Conference
Four Clarkson undergraduate students attended and presented at the 2008 National Conference for College Women Student Leaders June 5-7 at Georgetown University. Read More.
Shawn “Skip” Philippon ’91 charity established
A charity has been established for a fellow Alumni and member of ZN fraternity Shawn “Skip” Philippon. Shawn is a graduate of 1991 in Mathematics. Shawn has serious cancer related health issues. He had no insurance and astronomical medical bills for the first round of surgeries. The cancer has been removed and now Shawn requires another 18 months of reconstruction to his face, skull and neck. Four Incoming Golden Knights Selected in 2008 NHL Draft
Four incoming freshmen for the Clarkson University Hockey team were selected in the 2008 National Hockey League Draft held in Ottawa on Friday and Saturday, giving the Green and Gold their largest draft class since four Golden Knights were chosen in the 1991 entry draft. Read More.
ClarksonUniversityTeam Places First in Destination ImagiNation
The Clarkson University Destination ImagiNation team recently earned first place in the University Level at the Destination ImagiNation Global Finals in Knoxville, Tenn. The team is part of the University's SPEED (Student Projects for Engineering Experience and Design) program. Read More.

KNIGHTS OF NOTE
Paul Tonko ’71 MIE, the first Clarkson graduate to serve in the NY State Assembly, is now running for Congress in the district including Albany, Montgomery, Schenectady, Schoharie counties and parts of Fulton, Rensselaer, and Saratoga Counties.
LaRhonda Leonard ’96 recently spoke at the Rochester Urban League dinner "Salute to Black Scholars." Since its inception in 1980, the Black Scholars program has recognized more than 5,700 area students for their outstanding academic achievement. Leonard was named a Black Scholar during each of her four years at Edison Tech.
Mark Tisdel ’88 who works for Model N, Inc., a leading provider of Revenue Management solutions, was promoted to the role of Chief Financial Officer.
David E. Bulman ’84 has been named Advanced Mechanical Design Section manager at GE. In this role, he will be responsible for leading the conceptual mechanical design of new products, defining and delivering demonstrator engine programs and leading the development of essential technologies. Dave was chosen for this role due to his demonstrated leadership in mechanical design and systems engineering.
